Kristal Burnett-Dunkley

Can you talk a little bit about yourself and your background?

My name is Kristal Burnett-Dunkley (also known as Krystle), born and raised in the West Midlands. I have a BSc degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and a MSc degree in Business and Management. I have over ten years of experience working in sales and marketing, and I am currently working in New York in the tech industry, managing the business development function for HP’s personal systems, services, and programmes.

What prompted you to pursue an online programme with Aston University? Specifically, why was online appealing to you?

I had a wonderful experience at Aston University when I was doing my first degree, and I have always wanted to go back to do my masters but struggled to find the time when I started working. When I discovered a couple of years ago that Aston had created online courses for those who wanted to continue their education, but needed the flexibility to do so, I was absolutely thrilled. I work full-time so this was perfect me, Aston’s part-time online course in MSc Business and Management, provided me with the opportunity to keep working and earn my master’s degree at the same time.

What has the experience been like? Was it what you thought it would be like and has it met your expectations?

I have to say, I had a great experience doing my course online. The online classes were very interactive, the lecturers were always accessible, and Blackboard (the learning interface) made it very easy to connect with other students from all over the world. The whole programme exceeded my expectations.

If you were giving someone who was considering an online course advice, what would it be?

I would tell them to go for it because they won’t regret it! Studying online provides you with the opportunity to still maintain all your day-to-day responsibilities, while still earning your degree, it’s a win-win.

Would you recommend the Aston programme and if so what aspects of the course do you find appealing?

I 100% recommend the Aston programme, I love how interactive the course is, and you get the full learning experience. The lecturers are great, and the university is very supportive, enabling you to always deliver your best work.

Is there anything you’d like to add or anything you’d like to talk about that we did not touch on?

Aston University is awesome, so don’t delay putting in that application!
